What's the buzz? Tell me what's a happenin'...

Preppers sometimes get a bad rap in the media, however this tide is turning since more and more people are introduced to prepping and the reasons behind it. Perhaps you have heard of prepping, but aren't quite sure what it is, and if it is something you should consider. With our economic situation the way it is, and the increasing dangers of our modern world, it is prudent to find out about more ways to protect yourself and secure your future.

There Will Be No Economic Recovery. Prepare Yourself Accordingly.

Economic Collapse

This fear has been growing in volume since the housing bubble debacle in 2008. Ever since people have been watching the economic indicators and many analysts and economic experts agree that an economic crisis could be upon us.

Just take a look at what is currently happening in Cyprus, and the rest of the EU members for evidence that an economic collapse in the United States isn't out of the realm of possibilites. The U.S. Dollar is the world's reserve currency, its collapse could have catastrophic consequences on a global scale.

Investors agree the market isn't safe, and what happened in Cyprus could definitely happen elsewhere in the world and banking isn't as safe as we'd been led to believe.

It’s pretty scary what’s going on in Europe…when they start taking money out of people’s bank accounts. I, for one, am making sure I don’t have too much money in any single bank account anywhere in the world.

Now there is a precedent…The IMF has said loot the bank accounts. The EU has said loot the bank accounts.

So you can be sure that other countries, when the problems come, are going to say… let’s do it too.

…They’re going to go crazy the next time around.

It’s going to happen. Of course it’s going to happen…

It’s politicians who are telling you it’s a special case… oh, don’t worry, don’t worry, don’t worry.

What more do you need to know?

When politicians are saying ‘You don’t have to worry’…

Please, you better hurry, you better run for the hills.

Rule Of Threes

Humans can live 3 weeks without food, 3 days without water, but only 3 minutes without air.

Biological or Chemical Attack

The situation in Syria proves that in a conflict, if biological or chemical weapons are available, they will be used. This didn't just happen to soldiers, so don't think because you aren't on the battlefield that you won't be safe. This happens in urban areas and affects more civilians than soldiers.

Just a few days ago, there was a report about a potentially dangerous virus missing from a laboratory in Texas. Without nefarious intent, this is a very real threat and one that shouldn't be ignored.

Supply Chain Breakdown

We are at risk because we live in a "Just In Time" delivery system and that puts our current supply line in a very fragile space. If there were any sort of breakdown in any part of the supply chain, a catastrophic chain of events would take place. There would quickly be no food, as most grocery stores only carry about 72 hours worth of food. This alone would trigger civil unrest putting you at more danger with multiple disasters happening at the same time.

This is the easiest to prepare for. This just requires storing enough food, water, and supplies. How much you store and what you store is up to you. This link has a few tips on the types of food to store. Just grab one extra item every time you go to the store and very soon you'll have a stockpile of food at your disposal. Do the same thing with gasoline and any other supply you may need.

Civil Unrest

Threats of civil unrest are becoming more and more apparent. Civil unrest is a dangerous threat in that it can either come alone, or coupled with other threats. The fears of civil unrest keep growing.

People are feeling disenfranchised and ready to snap. There aren't enough jobs out there, and this feeling of economic despair causes people to do very dangerous and scary things. If societal order breaks down, civil unrest will make an already dangerous situation much worse.

In order to quell the people, expect martial law to be imposed. No matter which way it goes down, you must take extra precautions and measures to protect yourself during civil unrest. You may be left to defend yourself, are you ready to do that?

Stay Tuned
